With a population of 1.33 million, San Antonio is considered to be one of the largest cities in the country, and apartment renters who are looking for an urban lifestyle will feel right at home. The metropolis is characterized as an urban center but with a massive suburban sprawl composed of sparsely populated communities. This means that individuals who may not necessarily want to live in the center of the bustling city can find options in much quieter neighborhoods around the area.

History buffs who are looking for apartments will find San Antonio to be a city that's abundant in history. Named after San Antonio de Padua, the metropolis was settled in by Spanish explorers around 1691. It's strong ties to Spain is seen on many buildings left from the settlement. Besides these structures, San Antonio is also home to other historical landmarks like the Alamo, an iconic site that not only molded the city, but also the country to what they are today.

Apartment renters with ties to the military will be happy to know that there is a strong military presence in San Antonio.
